OVTA Team Finishes 2nd at the USTA Junior Team Tennis 18U National Championships

A junior team from Columbus, Ohio, representing the Ohio Valley District, finished runner-up at the 2018 Junior Team Tennis 18U National Championships, held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 9-11. The 2018 USTA Junior Team Tennis 18U National Championships brought together the top 32 teams at intermediate and advanced levels from various USTA Sections throughout the country. Read More

Ohio Valley's Joyce Engle Passes Away

Joyce (Rike) Engle, 71 of Springfield, OH, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center after many years of illness. She worked with the Ohio Valley Tennis Association as the Adult League Tennis Coordinator for 16 years. She was also a longtime volunteer with the Midwest Section of the United States Tennis Association. She dedicated many years to the sport of tennis and the family always knew that the months of July and August were dedicated to tennis leagues. Read More

RCC Captures Midwest World Team Tennis Sectional Title

The USTA/Midwest Jr. World Team Tennis Sectional Championships took place at the Pearson Automotive Tennis Club in Zionsville, Ind. this past weekend. Five teams representing four districts took part in the 5-team round robin with Racquet Club of Columbus (Ohio Valley) prevailing by 9 games over the Wisconsin Cheeseheads. Read More

Midwest NTRP Section Qualifier

For 2018, the USTA is launching a new national adult tournament that leverages the NTRP rating system and will crown NTRP national champions in men’s and women’s singles and doubles at the 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 levels in both 18 & over and 50 & over age groups.
